Rosalie Phillips: Your Compassionate Psychotherapist Romeo MI
Welcome to New Pine Therapy. Here, you will find compassionate and personal support for those who feel too sensitive and want to have more peace, clarity, and emotional freedom.
I am Rosalie Phillips, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My primary goal is to help you heal by walking with you through the grief that feels like it “doesn’t count.” Whether you are navigating difficult life transitions, seeking to understand your emotional patterns, or simply looking for a safe space to process your feelings, this practice is designed with you in mind.
A Safe Space for Healing
When you step into our local office, or join our virtual therapy sessions, you are entering a judgment-free zone. It is vital to work with a therapist who truly understands your unique experiences.
Whether we meet in person or virtually, my goal is to create a compassionate and judgment-free place where you can safely explore the thoughts and feelings that keep you stuck, confused, or isolated. It’s easy to feel like you are alone in your most difficult or overwhelming emotions, especially if you feel like your sensitivity is a problem. My goal in therapy is to create a space where you can find the wisdom and clarity in those emotions without the weight of judgment, and then confidently chart your course with access to all your internal wisdom and strength.
The Role of a Therapist
A skilled counselor verified by clinical experience helps guide you toward self-awareness. It takes work, but the journey is profoundly rewarding.
Comprehensive Therapy Services
Counseling for Individuals and Adults
I specialize in helping adults navigate complex emotional landscapes. Life doesn't always go as planned, and individual challenges require focused, individualized care.
Anxiety Management
Anxiety can be paralyzing. If you want to quiet your mind and regain control over your life, therapy is a great place to start.
Overcoming Depression
Depression is isolating. We can work together to rebuild your connection to yourself and the world around you, so that you can access more hope, energy, and motivation
Navigating Relationship Struggles
Relationships are hard work and even the closest, happiest relationships can experience seasons of confusion, disconnection, and pain. It is possible to identify the patterns that keep you stuck, rebuild trust with others and yourself, and chart a new course forward with the ones you love.
The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.

The Therapeutic Process: What to Expect
Clear expectations are foundational to the therapy experience. All of my policies are detailed in the informed consent paperwork that is completed prior to intake, including information about confidentiality, scheduling, and practice policies. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to reach out via the contact page or send me an email at rosie@newpinetherapypllc.com.
The First Session
Your initial intake session is about gathering information, understanding your history, and setting goals. It is time for us to start getting to know each other and ensure that we are a good fit.
Establishing Goals
During the intake and early sessions, we will identify what it is that you hope to achieve in therapy. This gives our work together a clear direction and purpose
Understanding Your Background
Knowing where you come from helps us understand where you are, and where you want to go.. Looking back at foundational experiences and key relationships can give us insight into your current experience, and what may need to be done with previous experiences, whether that involves making sense of patterns, changing your approach to things in your present, or grieving things that can no longer be changed.
Ongoing Work and Growth
Healing is not a linear path, but with time, attention, and support, you can develop a new framework for moving forward that is aligned with your goals and values.
| Phase of Treatment | Primary Objective | Client Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Intake & Assessment | Establish trust and gather history. | Open communication and honesty. |

| Maintenance & Growth | Solidify progress and plan for the future. | Applying strategies in daily life. |
Approaches to Mental Health
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. My approach is systemic and client-centered, which means that your goals drive the process and we take a broad, inclusive view of everything that you bring to therapy. This includes external factors, relational experiences, and all your internal strengths, resources, and vision.
Collaborating with Other Professionals
If you have other providers you want me to collaborate with over the course of therapy, such as doctors, psychiatrists, or others, we can definitely work this in. My goal is to support you as collaboratively as possible, to support your overall wellness.
Ensuring Privacy
Confidentiality is the cornerstone of therapy. There are some legal exceptions such as child or elder abuse, but the content of therapy sessions is kept strictly confidential and private. These exceptions are listed in the informed consent paperwork and we can review any time. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about what these are.
Evaluating Progress
We regularly review your treatment plan to ensure we are moving toward your goals and making meaningful progress.
Taking the Next Step
It would be my honor to support you on your journey forward. Peace, clarity, and progress are possible, and you deserve to have peace and move with confidence in your life and relationships, with others and with yourself.
My office is conveniently located in downtown Romeo, and easily accessible off Van Dyke for residents of Macomb County and the Oxford/Rochester Hills area, or we can meet virtually from anywhere in Michigan.
