What are the benefits of telehealth?

When many people picture therapy, it involves a couch, a dimly lit room, and perhaps a clipboard (“and how does that make you feel?”). However, this is certainly not the only way to experience therapy. Telehealth offers a secure, confidential, and convenient approach to appointments outside the traditional face-to-face option. I use a secure video platform to ensure privacy, and ask that you make sure you are in a private and comfortable location for our sessions. There is no commute, no traffic, and we can keep more consistent appointments without having to be in the same place at the same time.

How does scheduling work? How long does therapy last?

I typically meet with clients weekly to establish goals, get to know you, and make sure we have the best opportunity for ongoing and consistent progress towards what you want to accomplish in therapy. However, there are other factors that impact how often we meet, such as your schedule and preferences. We can discuss the best arrangement for scheduling, that both allows for time to address your goals and also fits your life and preferences. The duration of therapy can vary- you may want to meet briefly, for a few months, or longer- depending on your own experience and goals.

What is it like to go to therapy?

My deep intent with every client is to create a safe, open, and collaborative space to explore and engage with your experiences and goals. It can take several sessions to identify goals and begin to develop our therapeutic relationship, and my belief is that the time you spend in therapy is your time. It is important to me that we spend that time in a way that is reflective of your hopes and personal goals. Having been a client in therapy myself, I have experienced the positive impact of dedicating this time to yourself and your personal growth, and it is my privilege to help create that same space for you.
